Shannon “Jake” Bradshaw, age 70 of North Tazewell, VA died Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, WV. Born February 25, 1944 in Bland County, VA, he was a son of the late Frank and Barbara F. Cooper Bradshaw. Mr. Bradshaw was owner and operator of Bradshaw Pallets in North Tazewell, VA. He was a lifetime member of the Tazewell Moose Lodge # 198, a member of the West Virginia Moose Association, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Bluefield, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Anita Kay Bradshaw; four brothers, George, Frank, Fred, and Amos Bradshaw; one sister, Donna Mae Burton.
He is survived by his wife, Bea Bradshaw; two sons, Michael Shannon Bradshaw and Timothy Dean Bradshaw both of North Tazewell, VA; one brother, Woodson Bradshaw and wife, Doris of Bland County, VA; four sisters, Carol Jean Shaneyfelt of Lake Mary, FL, Yvonne Haase and husband, Chuck of Marietta, GA, Juanita Thompson and husband, Ralph of Greensboro, NC, and Virginia Cash and husband, Elwood of Richmond, VA; one grandchild, Haley Bradshaw of Thompson Valley in Tazewell, VA; special sister in law, Ruth Hancock of Burkes Garden, VA; special nephew, Leonard Riddle and Margaret of Kentucky; and very special friends, Richard and Marion Stansbury of Thompson Valley in Tazewell, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA with Pastor John Ralph Repass officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, VA. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Warren, Dan Vanhoozier, Jay Ray, Jr., Jordan Robertson, Anthony Noland, and Aaron Dillow. The officers of the Tazewell County Moose Lodge will serve as honorary pallbearers.

William G. “Bill” Collins, Sr. age 80 of Tazewell, VA died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at
Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, WV. Born April 18, 1934 at Tazewell,
VA, he was a son of the late Warner and Laura Ellen Holbrook Collins. He was a
member of the New Covenant Fellowship Church at North Tazewell, VA and the
Tazewell County Sportsman’s Club at Burke’s Garden, VA. Mr. Collins was a
retired painter who worked in the Tazewell area many years. In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Warner Collins; and step
son, Donald Martinez.

Ruth Ellen Meadows Strouth, age 77 of Richlands, Virginia went to be with the Lord, on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at a Richlands hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Bandy, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Ruthi Griffith Meadows who were former Tazewell County natives. Ruth had dedicated her life to caring for her family and their home. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She had a heart of gold which she opened to all in need. She and her husband were former foster parents prior to her battle beginning with schizophrenia. She was a breast cancer survivor and was diagnosed in March with CHF. She was very charismatic and made everyone smile who knew her. She was of the Protestant Faith and lived most of her life in the Tazewell County area. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Strouth, sister, Mary Pruitt and brothers, Ermil T., Arnold B., Roy H. and James W. Meadows.

Betty Anne Hash, 67 of Bluefield, VA, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014 at Bluefield
Regional Medical Center. Born in Bluefield, WV, she was the only child of the
late William C. and Gertrude “Ted” Rider Pasley. She was a member of First
United Methodist Church and a very active member of the Martha Circle of the
UMW. She was also a long time treasurer of the Virginia Garden

Michael Ray Palmer, age
57, of Richlands, VA passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Bristol
Regional Medical in Bristol, TN.
Michael was born in
Richlands, VA and was the son of the late Herby Porter and Alice Gaynell Hess
Palmer. He was service technician for Larry Dye’s Heating and Cooling and was of
the Pentecostal faith. Michael was a lifelong resident of the area.
